Will We See Boba Fett Again in Clone Wars
The Book of Boba Fett spoilers follow.
The Book of Boba Fett has been surprisingly popular, if not quite as popular as The Mandalorian, which has left fans wondering if Temuera Morrison's first solo venture has a future beyond season one.
Things were complicated further when episodes five and six became a backdoor premiere for The Mandalorian season three, essentially making this show Mando 2.5.
So what does that mean for The Book of Boba Fett? Is there another chapter waiting in the wings or can we close this book for good and move onto the other eighty gajillion Star Wars shows soon heading our way?
Here's everything you need to know about The Book of Boba Fett season two on Disney+.
The Book of Boba Fett season 2 potential release date: When will it air on Disney+?
Unfortunately, as of March 2022, there is still no confirmation The Book Of Boba Fett is returning for a season two yet, let alone a confirmed release date.
With the Star Wars universe ever-expanding, there is just as equal a chance they're closing the book Boba Fett's standalone journey completely, as there is it will continue on to further chapters.
Given Disney has wider plans for Star Wars in general, it could also hold season two back to connect it with something else planned later down the line.
The Book Of Boba Fett proved to have significant connections to The Mandalorian, which has been given the greenlight to go ahead with season three. So we may just need to wait and see how this story plays out.
The Mandalorian season three potentially should be with us by December 2022.
At least there are plenty of other spin-offs and additions to the Star Wars universe to keep us on our toes – including Ahsoka, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Andor and Rangers of the New Republic to name a few.
The Book of Boba Fett season 2 cast: Who is returning?
We'd usually say a show like The Book of Boba Fett hinges on its leading man, but as episodes five and six proved, Temuera Morrison isn't as integral to the show as we first thought. Saying that though, it would still be cheeky to commission a second season without Boba Fett himself, so we can safely assume Morrison will be back in some form.
Others who would likely join him include:
• Ming-Na Wen as Fennec Shand
• Pedro Pascal as Din Djarin / The Mandalorian (If he's not busy with his own show)
• Matt Berry as the voice of 8D8
• Carey Jones as Krrsantan
• Danny Trejo as the trainer of Fett's Rancor
Following that short but intriguing post-credits scene at the end of season one, we suspect that Timothy Olyphant would definitely return for a second season. Cobb Vanth almost died at the hands of Cad Bane, but help from the Bacta Tank and Fennec Shand's surgeon mean he'll definitely be around next time we revisit Tatooine, whenever that might be.
One person we don't expect to see return is Corey Burton as the voice of Cad Bane. The notorious bounty hunter ended up on the wrong end of Boba's spear in the season one finale, which means he's unlikely to pop up again and cause more trouble for our faves in season two. Though that light *was* still blinking on his coat...
The Book of Boba Fett season 2 plot: What will happen?
Boba has now secured his place as Tatooine's big crime boss, but will he stay there after the dust has settled? One final scene in the season-one finale hinted that he and Fennec may soon be moving onto pastures new.
Held up as saviours, Boba and Fennec walk through the streets with admiration and even a melon thrown their way. "We are not suited for this," says Boba, to which Fennec replies, "If not us, then who?"
And with that Boba throws his melon to Black Krrsantan who's hanging out with Sophie Thatcher's Drash, leader of the teen street gang who we suspect may now take over if Boba decides to leave.
It's an ambiguous end, but that makes sense given that the future of this show is still ambiguous too. Given the mixed response from fans, not to mention the lack of obvious story for Boba moving forward, we wouldn't be surprised if he returns in a smaller capacity moving forward, perhaps as a guest star on other shows like The Mandalorian.
However, if The Book of Boba Fett does return, then it's possible that future episodes might focus on him settling an old score with Mace Windu, the Jedi Master who killed his father.
"I owe him big time for my dad. He's done. He's done," Morrison told IMDb's On the Scene in a recent interview. "I've got my eye on him. He's top of the list, in fact."
Co-star Ming-Na Wen joined in, suggesting "slow torture" for Mace at the hands of her character Fennec Shand, to which Morrison replied, "Definitely, yes."
And before you point out that Mace is dead, remember that Boba was supposed to be eating sand worms too.
Back in 2016, Samuel L Jackson disputed his character's supposed death during an interview with EW where he argued Mace could have survived Revenge of the Sith.
"Of course he is [alive]! Jedi can fall from amazing distances," Jackson said. "And there's a long history of one-handed Jedi. So why not?"
Why not indeed?

Sorry folks, but the chances of us seeing a trailer for Book Of Boba Fett season two is low for the foreseeable future.
